about

Having spent his teenage years and part of his adult life living in the states, Ikol Santiago returned to Puerto Rico in 2004 and quickly became part of the island’s underground hip-hop scene. His commanding vocal style -cool yet stern, clear and precise- developed through numerous collaborations with many of the island’s greats. Ikol’s solo debut, Iguacas, named after the critically endangered Puerto Rican Parrot, is a deeply personal journey through the MC’s experience growing up and trying to find his footing in life. Tampoco Tanto takes a look at our increasingly desperate society, turning anger and anxiety into something closer to wisdom - and perhaps a bit of hope.
